Appointments

To request an appointment during opening times:

  • phone us on 01457 832590
  • Or complete the online form – click below:

We run a total triage system for all new appointments. At 8am on working days, patients must complete an online form or phone the surgery and a receptionist will complete a form for them. The GPs triage the requests and allocate appointments accordingly. Forms can no longer be completed once capacity is reached every day.

Patients should state their preference for a face to face or telephone consultation. Otherwise, the GP will assign the most appropriate type of appointment during triage.

Where clinically indicated, children under five years of age will be offered a same day appointment or telephone triage.

Other Appointments

Nurse appointments can be booked in advance. Patients should inform the receptionist of the reason for their visit so that an appropriate length of appointment time can be allocated.

We run a recall system to invite patients on chronic disease registers to attend for annual reviews.

Text message reminders and cancellations

Patients can opt-in to receive appointment notifications and reminders by text if they have a mobile phone number.

Patients can respond to text message reminders to cancel their appointment.

The text messaging reminder and cancellation service is automated and is not manned by a member of staff.

Patients should ensure that their personal details are kept up to date for our records. If any of your details change they should let us know straightaway.

Cancelling or changing an appointment

Patients must inform us as soon as possible if they are unable to keep their appointment. This may enable someone else to be seen. To cancel your appointment:

If cancelling via text or using online services, patients must cancel no later than 60 minutes before the appointment time. The system may not cancel the appointment if you do not allow this amount of time. If patients wish to cancel their appointment after this time, they should call the surgery.

If you need help when we are closed

If you need medical help now, use NHS 111 online or call 111.

NHS 111 online is for people aged 5 and over. Call 111 if you need help for a child under 5.

Call 999 in a medical or mental health emergency. This is when someone is seriously ill or injured and their life is at risk.

Home visits

Please telephone the surgery, 01457 832590before 10:30am if you require a home visit.

You may only request a home visit if you are strictly housebound or are too ill to visit the practice. Your GP will only visit you at home if they think that your medical condition requires it and will also decide how urgently a visit is needed.

The GP will telephone prior to a home visit.

You can be visited at home by a community nurse if you are referred by your GP. You should also be visited at home by a health visitor if you have recently had a baby or if you are newly registered with a GP and have a child under five years.
